In the last issue I talked about the reason you don't get what you want. The reason is because of a lack of clarity.

Last week I went to Las Vegas with some friends to celebrate my birthday. Although I'm not a gambler or a drinker, I enjoy the entertainment. Here's a picture of me and two of my friends as we posed with a Michael Jackson Impersonator. His performance was phenomenal.

I also happen to love hot dry weather and was looking forward to some pool time. I was disappointed to find out that the pool at our hotel opened late and closed early, but I saw the brilliance behind that decision.

The pool is a distraction, (in the eyes of the hotels) because they want you to gamble. Anything that keeps you from gambling is a distraction to the intended purpose as set by the casinos and hotels.

This issue is about how distractions keep you from reaching your goals.

Distractions Get You Off Course

Most entrepreneurs have too many ideas and too many opportunities that keep them rowing in circles never really reaching the island at all.

I call this distraction, the "sparkling island." You are on course rowing to your island when you spot a magical sparkling island (aka opportunity not completely in alignment with your original goals). After a while you have too many projects, none of them completed and yet you can't turn off your mind.
